This indenture made this 22nd of March 1862, Witnesseth 
that I, Jno. Hope for the love and esteem that I bear the 
Presbyterian Church of the Confederate States of America, 
Do give grant and convey to Nathan G. Phillips our pastor 
& to be held by him for the benefit & use of the above 
named church the following described lot of land on which 
Airmount Church now stands I. E. beginning at a stone in 
the hollow nearly East of the Church and North of the Big 
Road thence North 83* West to a stone thence South 7 1/2* 
East to a stone thence South 83* East to a stone thence to 
the beginning, containing four acres. Containing four acres 
more or less to have and to hold the same to the said N. G. 
Phillips or his successor as trustee to the Presbyterian 
Church for ever against the claims of all persons; 

in witness I set my hand and seal this 22nd of March 1862.

Know all men by these Presents That I, H. D. Murley of the 
County and State aforesaid, for and in consideration of the 
sum of Forty eight Dollars, to me in hand paid by Abe Smith, 
of said County, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, 
have bargained, sold and conveyed and by these Presents do 
give, grant, bargain and deliver unto the said Abe Smith, 
his heirs and assigns the following described piece of land, 
situated and lying in the County of Clarke -- to-wit: 

Twelve acres of land in the SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of 
Section 21 Township 12 Range 4E. 

Together with all and singular the hereditaments and 
appurtenances unto him the said Abe Smith, his heirs and 
assigns forever. And the said H. D. Murley, for myself and 
my heirs and assigns, shall and will warrant and forever 
defend the title to the same unto the said Abe Smith, his 
heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of 
any person or persons whatsoever. 

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 
30th day of Dec. 1876.

ALTHOUGH THE DEED IS FILED IN CLARKE COUNTY. MANY
